Resistor Color Code Calculator is a light application designed to calculate the value of an electronic resistor.

Resistors are normally marked with four colored bands that are useful to calculate their electronic resistance value. Electronics professionals are usually trained to memorize the color codes and the calculation algorithm, but thanks to this program now it can be worked out automatically.

The program is very simple, intuitive and easy to use. However, its user interface design could be widely improved. It allows you to select the four colors of the resistor and get the value by pressing the "Calculate" button. It includes a rough graphic that shows your color combination, so that you can visually compare it with your physical resistor. The program not only displays the resistance value in Ohms, but also the tolerance percentage and the minimum and maximum acceptable resistance values for such a resistor.

What's more, this application includes a couple of additional complementary tools. The first one is a resistor quiz, designed to help you sharpen your electronics knowledge. However, it shows only one question at a time, and it does not register your answer, as it is still in development stage. The other tool is the Ohms Law calculator, which allows you to get the volts, amps or resistance values starting from two known variables.
